Watford is set to face freezing weather next week, as a brief reprieve in milder temperatures over the weekend will soon plummet to lows of -3C.
The Met Office is certain snow will hit many parts of Scotland, Northern Ireland and northern England, and some southern parts of England could be impacted also.
In a press release, the forecaster shared: "Through the middle of next week, with cold air firmly in place over the UK, the chance of snow increases across many areas for a time.
"There’s still plenty of detail to work out but on Tuesday there is the potential for areas of snow to move inland over parts of Northern Ireland, southern Scotland and/or northern England.
Will the cold weather persist throughout the coming weekend❓

Will it snow in Watford next week?
According to the current Met Office forecast for Watford it doesn't show it snowing in Watford next week yet, but the temperatures would certainly be cold enough for it.
From Monday morning (January 15), temperatures are set to hit -2C and actually go lower to -3C in the very early hours of Tuesday morning (January 16).
This pattern currently repeats throughout the week with there being a brief period where it goes above 0C during the middle of the day.
The Met Office is still analysing the weather systems for Tuesday and Wednesday next week, which means the outlook could change for Watford on the snow front.
Met Office Deputy Chief Meteorologist Chris Bulmer explained: “There are a couple of weather systems for Tuesday and Wednesday which we are keeping an eye on that bring the potential for disruptive snow for some regions.
"With cold air firmly in place, any weather systems that move across the country next week will bringing mainly snowfall inland.
"Models are currently showing us a variety of options for both systems and we’ll be able to add more details to in the coming days.”
