Watford is an ever-changing town but there are some parts of it that have changed very little over the years.
The Watford Observer is delighted to share pictures from the archive at Watford Museum and this week we recall this scene in Church Road.
The museum’s volunteer archivist Christine Orchard said: “In a rapidly changing Watford, this scene of Church Road seems little touched by the years.
“The view looks away from St Albans Road and the two ladies walking on the pavement would certainly recognise it as it is today.
“Some of the buildings have had a change of colour but St Andrew’s Church can be seen a little down the road and even the telegraph pole is in the same place.”
