A road closure at a major junction could go on for five weekends, Highways has said.
One of Watford’s busiest roads, The A405 North Orbital Road heading into the town, at its junction with St Albans Road and Horseshoe Lane, closes at 8pm tonight (January 12) for Leep Electricity Networks Ltd to install a new service connection.
It will then remain shut all weekend, until 5am on Monday (January 15).

According to Hertfordshire County Council’s road network managers, the A405 is set to close again on January 19 to 22 (for the same length of time) and do the same from January 26 to 29 and February 2 to 5.
It is understood that the road could potentially then close from February 16 to 19, if it is not possible to complete all the necessary works over the previous weekends.
The section of St Albans Road nearest the junction is also set to close on January 19 to 22 and January 26 to 29, as part of the same works. Multi-way signals will be operating in Horseshoe Lane each weekend.
Diversion routes will be in place. These will send motorists down either St Albans Road and North Western Avenue, or Horseshoe Lane and High Road (Leavesden).
