The closure of one of Watford’s busiest road junctions from tonight is among the planned roadworks set to cause disruption to motorists in the area over the coming weeks.
The A405 North Orbital Road, at its junction with St Albans Road and Horseshoe Lane, is due to be closed from 8pm Friday and remain shut throughout this weekend for major works.
Delays are likely in other major roads, including Rickmansworth Road, Watford Road and Vicarage Road, due to roadworks scheduled to take place before the end of this month.
The following information is sourced from the One.Network website and Hertfordshire Highways and is a selection of the roadworks planned to happen until the end of January:
- The A405 North Orbital Road junction with St Albans Road and Horseshoe Lane, Watford, will be closed this weekend to allow Leep Electricity Networks to install a new service connection. Hertfordshire Highways have stated the closure will start at 8pm tonight (Friday) and remain in place until 5am Monday. A diversion will be in place.
- Drivers using Colonial Way, Watford, may experience delays from Saturday to Monday when repair and maintenance works are carried out by Affinity Water. Two-way traffic lights will be in use at this time.
- Delays are likely in Hagden Lane, Watford, for 11 days from Monday for repair and maintenance works by Affinity Water. The works are scheduled to take place from January 15 to January 26 and multi-way traffic lights will be in use.
- Affinity Water is also due to be scheduled to be carrying out repair and maintenance works in Rickmansworth Road, Watford, from Wednesday to Friday, January 19. The works are due to be carried out near the junction with Harwoods Road and multi-way traffic lights will be in use.
- Colonial Way, Watford, will be shut to motorists from January 19 to January 22 for gas works by Cadent.
Cadent are also set to be carrying out gas works in Watford Road, Croxley Green, on January 20 and 21. The works are due to take place near the junction with Bateman Road and multi-way traffic lights will be in use.
- Water Lane, Watford, is set to be closed overnight for five days later this month for drainage investigation works. The closure is due to apply from 9pm to 5am, from January 22 to January 27, from A411 Exchange Road to the east side of the railway bridge. A diversion route will be in place.
- Drivers may experience delays in Vicarage Road, Watford, due to footway reconstruction works taking place between January 25 and January 29. The works will take place between 56a Watford Road and the garage and stop-go boards will be in use to help the flow of traffic.
