Another person has been arrested in connection with the death of a man on the M1 near Watford.
The man’s body was found close to the hard shoulder between junctions 4 and 5 on Monday, December 4 – 34 hours after what Herts Police believed to be a “minor” crash.
The force said the vehicle involved failed to stop at the scene, but officers were still trying to establish what happened between then and when the body was found.
Weeks later a 28-year-old man from Leicester was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and failing to stop at the scene of a road traffic collision.
However, it has now emerged that a second arrest was made last week – a 24-year-old man from Hemel Hempstead, on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.
Both suspects have been released on police bail until March as enquiries continue.

After a post-mortem examination on December 6, the provisional cause of death for the man, who was from London and in his 40s, was a traumatic head injury.
At the time, Detective Inspector Garry Webb said: “Our thoughts remain with the man’s family at this terrible time.
"Specially trained officers are continuing to support them and are keeping them updated.”
