Land containing a “tired-looking” house set for demolition is being marketed with permission for developers to build flats.
An Aldenham Road, Bushey, home and surrounding land went on the market today through estate agency Spicerhaart Land.
The listing, which invites offers in the region of £1,100,000, highlights that there is existing planning permission for six apartments as well as parking and landscaping works.

In June last year, Hertsmere Borough Council approved plans to knock down and replace the existing detached home which was described as “tired-looking” in the proposal and “empty and in a poor state of repair” by council officers.
Two flats can be built per floor over three floors. The new building would include parking spaces for six cars, which is below Hertsmere Borough Council’s adopted car parking standards.
However, planning officers noted that the site is “within a sustainable location” due to nearby shops and transport links.
Recommending approval, the planning officer said: “The proposal is acceptable in principle and satisfactory with regard to design and appearance, would preserve the character and appearance of the street scene, and would not impact on residential amenities, parking, access, landscaping, flood risk, and waste storage.”
Previous applications, in 2020 and 2021, to demolish the building and replace it with four and five flats had also been approved.
