Watford General Hospital has celebrated welcoming eight Christmas babies.
With the eight families welcoming new members on Christmas Day, and three more arriving on Boxing Day, the festive season was a busy period for the hospital’s midwifery team.
Director of midwifery Mitra Bakhtiari said: “It was fantastic to see so many families celebrating the birth of their babies during the festive season.

“As with every year, a special thanks goes to all the staff who worked over the Christmas period to look after our families.
“Our staff always make sure that each family in our care has the best experience possible, no matter what their journey is.
“I’m very proud of our supportive team for looking after so many babies this Christmas.”
Baby boy Follett, whose family are from Watford, was the first Christmas Day baby to arrive when he was born at 2.29am. He weighed 2950g.
Goodhew, weighing 2600g, also arrived on December 25. He was born at 3.11pm to Hemel Hempstead based parents Leah Goodhew and Lee Kelley.
Another baby boy, Zangor, was born weighing 3140g at 5.30pm. Baby girl Kaur followed shortly after and was born at 7.57pm weighing 2630g. Both the Christmas Day babies were born to families from Watford.
