Christmas carol concerts have been a festive tradition for many years but this was the impressive sight 33 years ago when the finishing touches were being put to preparations for what was likely to have been the biggest to take place in Watford that year.
One of our photographers visited the Town Hall on December 4, 1990 to capture the rehearsals for a children’s carol concert.
As you can see by scrolling down this page, many dozens of young voices from 14 schools in the area were involved – it must have been quite a challenge to get them all safely onto stage.
Take a look through these pictures from our archive and you may spot yourself, or someone you recognise.
