Emergency services were called to Watford Junction after a person was hit by a train.
Just before 7pm on Friday (December 15) National Rail confirmed that all lines were closed between Milton Keynes Central and London Euston while police attended the scene of an “incident” at Watford Junction.
It then explained that a person had been hit by a train. Disruption at Watford Junction had already been expected until the end of the day, from as early as 6am, due to damage to overhead wires that was first reported at 4.57am.

At 6pm National Rail upgraded this to “major disruption” and all lines were closed until 8pm.
The service then, at 1.43am on Saturday (December 16), added: “Disruption between London Euston and Milton Keynes Central following a person being hit by a train and damage to the overhead electric wires has now ended.”
The British Transport Police have been contacted for more details. Updates to follow.
Anyone affected by what happened on the network on Friday was reminded that “there is always someone to talk to".
