Rail users have been warned of train delays affecting lines between Watford Junction and Milton Keynes.
A fault with the signalling system caused services to be delayed and cancelled this afternoon, with National Rail initially warning of delays "until the end of the day".
However, the latest message on its website warns of disruption until 1.30pm, though this could be extended.
Affected operators include Avanti West Coast between Glasgow Central and London Euston and London Northwestern Railway between Crewe and London Euston.
