Jaw-dropping Christmas lights at a house in west Watford have returned – with the total number of LEDs more than quadrupling.
The display has been wowing residents for years in Jellicoe Road each festive season as Mark Andrews – aka Sparky – adds to the collection annually.
The father-of-three and stepfather-of-two told the Watford Observer “we are back and bigger”, with 69,000 battery-powered LEDs – up from 16,000 the previous year. Most of the increase is linked to a new 40,000-LED panel.
Eighteen different songs also play constantly on a loop throughout the day, with all donations going directly to Watford Food Bank. Donations can be made via the website https://www.charitylightshow.com/.
Mr Andrews said: “Whilst we stand and enjoy these lights, someone is deciding to heat their home or eat a meal, nobody should be in that situation.

“Our show runs daily, between 4pm to 10pm on low volume out of respect for our neighbours, however, if we see you outside, we can come out, have a chat and turn up the music if requested.”
Over the years the display has expanded from standard bulbs, to LEDs, and now electronic smart pixels.
It currently runs on solar panel-charged batteries which power smart LEDs individually programmed by Mr Andrews, which then dance along to the selected song.
