A closed workshop would be set to become housing under a new planning application.
The former The Upholstery Workshop unit in Orbital Crescent, near where the A41 meets the A405 in Leavesden, is the subject of a notification of change of use application to Watford Borough Council submitted today (December 1).
The small business has already moved out of the unit and, under the proposal, the glass window on the storefront would be removed and replaced with smaller windows that match the neighbouring homes.

Designs show that there would be a living room/kitchen on the ground floor with two bedrooms and a bathroom at the rear.
The parade was formerly a mix or shops and homes, but the application form highlights that there is only one shop remaining in Orbital Crescent, which the Costcutter opposite the workshop.
It adds: “There is no demand for the upholstery services in the area.”
The Upholstery Workshop provided full upholstery and renovation service to restore old furniture, but its owners have moved away.
