A man charged with murder after a woman's body was found in North Hertfordshire has been remanded in custody ahead of a trial next year.

Victoria Greenwood, who had been reported missing, was found dead in a small car park between Roe Green and Wallington at around 8pm on Tuesday, November 14.

She had last been seen in Luton on November 10.

Robert Brown, 38, from Hitchin Road in Luton, has been charged with Ms Greenwood's murder after the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire (BCH) Major Crime Unit opened an investigation.

He had a hearing at Luton Crown Court today (November 21) and has been remanded in custody.

A trial has been set for May 7, 2024, and is estimated to last three weeks, Hertfordshire Police have confirmed.

Detective Inspector Justine Jenkins, from the BCH Major Crime Unit, said: "We have specially trained officers supporting Victoria’s family at this most difficult time."

She added: "I’d like to thank members of the public who have called us with information."

Herts Police had appealed for witnesses who may have seen a "distinctive" white Ford Fiesta with blue stripes being driven in the Cat Ditch Road area on the evening that Victoria's body was found.
