“Major” disruption has hit Watford trains with almost trains to be cancelled or delayed for hours.
A fault with the signalling system between London Euston and Watford Junction is the cause of major disruption to journeys between the stations, National Rail has confirmed.
Avanti West Coast, London Overground, Southern Railway, and London Northwestern Railway are all affected.

The fault occurred in the Wembley Central area, according to National Rail, and “major” disruption is expected to continue until 5pm. Customers have been warned of possible cancellations and delays of up to 90 minutes.

Watford Junction departure boards indicate that, six trains have already not run and more are set to follow, with many other services significantly delayed.
All trains to Euston are expected to be cancelled or delayed until 5.32pm.
Tickets can be used on London Buses and Southern have advised that customers may wish to use the Abbey Line from Watford Junction to St Albans Abbey to then continue their journey from St Albans City.
