New temporary traffic lights are set to cause delays for weeks at a traffic hotspot in Watford.
According to One Network, the lights on the St Albans Road and Bedford Street junction, near Penn Lane, will be in place until November 24.
It is due to excavating and installing ducting and kerb works, which are linked to the redevelopment of The Range site by Berkley Homes to create 1,214 homes.
Peter Cousins, 72, branded the lights “ludicrous” and bemoaned the “long delays”.
The agency van driver from Watford added that traffic gets particularly “crazy” during rush hour.
Mr Cousins said: “Traffic lights are springing up like flies in Watford. Traffic is backing up a lot on St Albans Road, it is causing chaos, and many residents are suffering because of the traffic.”
The overall Berkley Homes development was granted planning permission in 2019 and will deliver the tallest building in Watford, at 28 storeys.
