Police put a cordon in place for a bomb squad “controlled explosion” related to objects found near a road.
After locals noticed police tape and emergency vehicles near Langleybury Lane yesterday evening (October 27), Herts Police briefly explained why they were there.
“You may have seen a large emergency services presence near Langleybury Lane,” the force said, via the Watford Police Facebook page.

“Officers were assisting the Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) with a controlled explosion after several objects were found within a property in Abbots Langley.”

Police further confirmed that the objects were safely destroyed after the cordon was put in place and that they do not believe there is any wider threat to the public related to the objects.
The Watford Observer has contacted Herts Police for more information on the nature of the “objects” this morning. Updates to follow later today.
