A resident who was woken by their dog barking discovered an “unknown person” in their home during a burglary.
Herts Police issued an Online Watch Link (OWL) alert to Carpenders Park locals and appealed for footage of suspicious people after a report of someone breaking into a house in Harrow Way, on Friday (October 20).
According to the alert, the victim was walking downstairs in response to the barking dog at around 8.50pm when they spotted a person they described as a “male wearing a hat and casual clothing” standing in the porch.

They then left the address, running onto Harrow Way, towards Little Oxhey Lane.
The force said that a window was damaged, and it is thought that the man gained access by forcing the porch door open and damaged the second door by trying to force it open.
No property is believed to have been stolen.
Herts Police confirmed that enquiries are ongoing and asked anyone with information to contact them with the crime reference number 41/83972/23.
