A man has been arrested on suspicion of raping a child in the Watford town centre area.
Hertfordshire Police were called to reports of the incident over the weekend involving a girl aged under 18.
A spokesperson for the force today (October 19) told the Watford Observer: “Police received a report of a serious sexual offence in a private residential address in Watford town centre at 8.15pm on Sunday, October 15.
“Officers attended and a 24-year-old man from Watford was arrested on suspicion of rape and sexual assault involving a child.
“He has been bailed with conditions while enquiries continue.”
The victim is being supported by specially trained officers, the spokesperson added.
