A Watford hair salon has been crowned as the 'Your Favourite' winner.
Hair Connections in Market Street was voted Watford Observer readers' favourite place to get cuts, colours and blow-dries.
It is a family-run business, by two sisters, Carol and Sophie, which has been open for 46 years, relocating to Market Street nine years ago after starting in Charter Place.
Director of Hair Connections, Carol Andrea, said: “We have extremely loyal clients, if it weren’t for them, we would not have won this award. They are here rain, shine, and snow for hair appointments.
“Our clients are like family to us, we have so many regulars who come in for their weekly blow-dry and we are so grateful for them and their votes.”
The salon has a team which Carol and her sister, Sophie hailed as “fantastic” and “extremely hard working” as they are a “great” group of ladies to work with.
Watford Observer’s 'Your Favourite' winners receive an engraved trophy and a professionally printed vinyl banner.
The salon was one of five that were nominated but Hair Connections came out on top.
Carol added: “We are ecstatic to have won, we had so many of our clients vote for us and ask for help with online voting, but we are so thankful for the award.
“We had forgotten about the nominations until we were notified that we had won but it was such a lovely surprise.”
Carol credited the “special people who have been coming for a long time to us”.
She also spoke about the staff, Dee, Samantha, Nicola, and Ema, who all make the salon an “amazing” place to work and visit, as well as her sister, Sophie, who without her, the salon wouldn't be as "incredible" as it is now.
They offer a range of services, including colouring, permanent hair straightening and unisex haircuts.
It has previously been awarded the Watford BID Service Excellence Award for the hair and beauty category in 2017.
Hair Connections added it is “extremely grateful and happy” to be given the award and is “thankful” that its “welcoming” staff have recognition for the work they do.
