A new police appeal has been launched after a man was arrested over GBH and threats to kill.

Today (October 18), Herts Police asked for witnesses or those with information “no matter how small or insignificant” to come forward and aid their ongoing enquiries.

It was reported that a man was assaulted and hit with a garden tool, causing facial bruising including two black eyes, after a verbal altercation in Arran Close, Hemel Hempstead, at around 8.45pm on August 3.

The victim then left the area on foot before being found and given medical attention.

A 40-year-old man from Hemel Hempstead who was arrested on suspicion of section 18 grievous bodily harm with intent, assault occasioning actual bodily harm, threats to kill, and harassment has been released on police bail.

Detective Constable Heather Morris said: “Our enquiries are continuing, and we are appealing for any witnesses to please get in touch.

“While an arrest has been made in connection with this incident, we are still asking anyone who saw what happened and who hasn’t yet spoken to police to contact us, no matter how small or insignificant you think the details you have may be.”
