A burst water pipe in Croxley Green has left houses with no water, traffic disruption and and the closure of a school.
The damaged pipe, near York House School, has caused Sarratt Lane to close in both directions, to allow Affinity Water to repair the water main.
Some houses around the area are experiencing low water pressure or have no water, but the company hopes to get the issue sorted “as soon as possible”.
Affinity Water added an alert to its website at 6.25am and is hoping to sort out the problem by 2.30pm.
The website suggests residents “put some (water) in your kettle or fridge for drinking in case your water needs switching off for the repair”.
York House School on Sarratt Road has taken the decision to close for the day as the issue is affecting the building.
With water mains burst in both directions, likely loss of water supply and roads being closed both ways on Sarratt Road we sadly have to close for the day. Children that are already here (more staff than pupils currently) will of course be looked after until they are collected
