Police are investigating after two pupils were reportedly stabbed near Oaklands College in Hertfordshire yesterday (Monday, October 9).
Photographs circulating on social media show a heavy police presence in the area, and it is understood that armed police, the police helicopter and an air ambulance were all sent to the scene.
Witnesses told The Sun that two pupils from the college in St Albans were stabbed, though this is not confirmed. CCTV footage from a nearby business showed a man with a machete.
The incident reportedly occurred near the St Albans campus, in Hatfield Road, shortly after 3pm, with pupils then told to leave the college.
A statement was published on the Oaklands College Facebook page at 10pm, stating that there had been a "serious incident" near the college, and confirming that their campus had been used "as a central space for the emergency services".
