Plans for 43 new homes on land that has been removed from the green belt have been submitted to Dacorum Borough Council.

Homes England and Cala Homes Chiltern want to build the properties off Molyneaux Avenue, Bovingdon, near The Mount Prison.

The site had previously been designated as a potential area for 60 new homes.

Cala Homes confirmed that 40 per cent of the properties will be classified as affordable housing, and the development will provide a public space including a children’s play area.

Sustainability measures were also highlighted and described as “going above and beyond council requirements” by Cala Homes.

A range of homes including houses, maisonettes and apartments would be built.

Jim Brunt, from Cala Homes, said: “The proposed homes for Bovingdon will help to address the local housing demand while the generous new areas of open space and the play area will meet the recreational needs of existing and future residents.  Watford Observer: Artists impression of the proposed development at Molyneaux Avenue.
