A series of power cuts have plagued parts of Watford this afternoon.
UK Power Networks (UKPN) has said the unplanned power cut “has occurred on a piece of our electrical equipment which controls the power to your home”.
The provider said it has received 188 calls about power cuts affecting 56 postcodes.
Some people living in and around the areas of the Meriden, Garston and Cassiobury Park, have been impacted, according to UKPN.
UKPN has said the power is expected to go back on between 6pm and 7pm.
They added: “We may be able to get some customers on sooner. The timeframe may change and be extended depending on our investigations and the work involved to resolve the issue.”
The provider said they were first alerted to the power cut just after 3pm.
For those living in and near Mill End, Rickmansworth, the power is not expected to resume until 8.30pm to 9.30pm.
UKPN was first made aware of this disruption at around 4.30pm.
