Work to fix botched yellow lines in North Watford should be completed in the next few weeks, a council has said.
Hertfordshire County Council confirmed it has already re-laid tarmac in the Sheepcot Lane area after its contractor Ringway did the work last month.
A spokesperson for the local authority said: “These roads were resurfaced last week, and we need to allow some time for the new surface to settle before we can repaint the lines. The lines will be repainted in the next two to three weeks, depending on the weather.”
Pictures were shared online of the botched work, which was reportedly done in the dark between 10pm and 11pm on Friday, September 8.
Residents branded them “McRoadworks”, with one writing “ah, they got their toddler to do this?”, and others joked that workers must have done them after a drink.
After noticing the latest tarmac work, another resident hit out at the council "wasting money". However, the county council spokesperson previously told the Watford Observer: “We are investigating how this happened, and our contractor will be redoing the work at their own expense.”
