At least eight cars crashed in two Hertfordshire motorway collisions in under an hour.
Herts Police were called to the M1 northbound, near junction 8 (Hemel Hempstead), at 11.15am today (September 29) after a white van, white Peugeot 3008, grey Vauxhall Insignia, red Fiat 500, and white Volkswagen Move Up were involved in a crash.
The force are also investigating whether a sixth vehicle was involved.

A road closure was put in place between junctions 8 and 9 while Herts Police, the East of England Ambulance Service, and Herts Fire and Rescue worked at the scene.
One woman was taken to hospital, but her injuries were not deemed to be life threatening.
The force was then called to the anticlockwise M25, near junction 23 (Potters Bar), following another crash.
This time three vehicles were reportedly involved, including a blue Audi Q7 and a Peugeot 207.
One person sustained a minor injury. The vehicles have now been recovered.
At 3.14pm National Highways confirmed the M25 had reopened, meaning both motorways are flowing freely after the crashes.
