Arrests after M25 closure between St Albans and South Mimms

Officers have today (September 28) confirmed they were called to a vehicle on Wednesday, September 27, which was wanted in connection with a burglary.

The M25 was closed in both directions between junction 22 (St Albans) and 23 (South Mimms) while work was carried out to trace the suspects.

A 45-year-old man from Bedford and a 20-year-old man from Long Marston were arrested on suspicion of burglary and theft.

It is believed the burglary was in Bishop's Stortford.

OneVision

In a separate incident, Watford-based charity One Vision has been left “devastated” after its van was stolen.

It was taken from Common Road in Kensworth, Dunstable, overnight between Wednesday and Thursday (September 21), and has been reported to police.

It had more than £1,000 worth of food in the vehicle which was being given to struggling families across Watford and Three Rivers.

The charity CEO, Enoch Kanagaraj, said: “It is devastating that our van has been stolen. We are having to fundraise to be able to get the money back as our insurance won’t cover all the costs. Stealing from a charity is just terrible.

“We have had a lot of volunteers come forward to help us with this, including Dean Russell the MP, so hopefully we can get another van.”
