A Watford-based charity has been left “devastated” after its van was stolen.
One Vision, which provides support to vulnerable people families, has been without its food hub van since last week.
It had over £1,000 worth of food in the vehicle which was being given to struggling families across Watford and Three Rivers.
It was taken from Common Road, Kenworth, overnight between Wednesday and Thursday (September 21), and has been reported to police.
The charity CEO, Enoch Kanagaraj, said: “It is devastating that our van has been stolen. We are having to fundraise to be able to get the money back as our insurance won’t cover all the costs. Stealing from a charity is just terrible.
“We have had a lot of volunteers come forward to help us with this, including Dean Russell the MP, so hopefully we can get another van.”
The van was originally donated by the West Herts Charity Trust and it is “very sad to hear of the crime”, he added.
Information can be reported to Herts Police via its website or by calling 101, quoting 40/51091/23.
