Delays on the A41 near North Watford were caused by a car that is believed to have been abandoned, police have said.
Herts Highways warned motorists of congestion around The Dome roundabout at around 2.46pm today (September 19) following what it said was a crash.
A spokesperson for the county council said the incident was “damage only” and highlighted by Herts Police.

However, a constabulary spokesperson told the Watford Observer: “Police were called at 2.18pm today (Tuesday 18 September) to reports of a damaged vehicle in North Western Avenue.
“The vehicle – a white Volkswagen Polo – is believed to have been abandoned.”

It is currently unclear exactly how the vehicle crashed or what it collided with. Herts Police have been asked for clarification.
Anyone with information has been asked to call non-emergency number 101, quoting reference ISR 429 of 19 September.
As of 4pm, there was still some congestion in the area, particularly along North Western Avenue and near the roundabout junction with Colne Way.
