Thieves armed with drills have been targeting vehicles in a hotel chain's car parks
Over two days five vans were broken into in Premier Inn car parks in Kings Langley and Flamstead.
Officers said the thefts involved holes being drilled into vans, which were all Ford Transits, with tools in the high hundreds and thousands being taken from within.
Two of the thefts occurred in Kings Langley’s Premier Inn car park. One was between 7pm on September 12 and 8.30am on September 13. The other was on Wednesday, September 13, at 2am.

The other three happened in the Flamstead Premier Inn car park with one being between 11pm and 11.20pm on Tuesday, September 12.
Officers said that with the other theft, between 8pm on September 12, and 6.30am on September 13, a lock was damaged, but it is not clear if a drill was used.
But police confirmed a lock was also damaged in a third theft between 5.30pm on September 12, and 6.40am on September 13.

The five thefts come after aItems were stolen from a Vauxhall Vivaro between 5.30pm on Wednesday, September 6, and 6.30am on Thursday, September 7.
Police said: “Suspects gained entry to the vehicle by drilling/cutting a hole in the rear doors. After gaining entry, items were taken.”
The suspects then made off in an unknown direction.
Officers are continuing to investigate and anyone with information on the theft has been asked to call 101 quoting crime reference 41/71615/23.
The police have told the Watford Observer that it is too early to make any links with the incidents “but we will always keep an open mind” as part of their enquiries.
Premier Inn has been approached for a comment.
