There are likely to be delays when one of Watford’s major routes is shut for a week overnight for resurfacing, while other roads in the area are also due to be closed to vehicles to allow roadworks to be carried out.
The resurfacing work will be carried out in Beechen Grove from September 25 to October 2, with closures also planned to affect Queens Avenue and Silk Mill Road in the next two weeks.
The following information is sourced from the One.Network website and is a selection of some of the works planned to take place before the end of this month:
- Motorists will be unable to use Queens Avenue, Watford, between 9.30am and 5pm from Monday to Wednesday as the road will be closed for works by Affinity Water. The work is due to take place near to the junction with Whippendell Road and local diversions will be in place at these times.
- Delays are likely while UK Power Networks are installing a new service connection in Lammas Road, Watford, from Monday to Friday, September 22. Two-way traffic lights will be used to control traffic.
- Works by Affinity Water are due to shut Lower Paddock Road, Watford, from Wednesday to Friday, September 22. A local diversion will be in place during the closure.
- Resurfacing work is set to shut Beechen Grove, Watford, overnight from September 25 to October 2. The closure will be in place from 10pm to 5am each day to allow the work to be carried out from the St Albans Road Roundabout to the junction with Exchange Road. Diversions will be in place during the closures.
- Pathway reconstruction work is scheduled to close Perry Mead, Bushey, to vehicles between September 25 and September 27. The closure will be in force from 7.30am to 6pm each day to allow the work to be carried out from the junction of Ashfield Avenue to No. 12 Perry Mead.
- Part of Silk Mill Road, Watford, is due to be closed between September 27 and September 29 to allow Affinity Water to relay a pipe. Traffic will be diverted locally.
- Two-way traffic lights will be used while Affinity Water carries out works in Little Bushey Lane, Bushey, between September 28 and October 2.
- Affinity Water are also set to be carrying out works in Coldharbour Lane, Bushey, between September 28 and October 2. Two-way traffic lights will also be used at this location.
