Traffic lights labelled an “accident waiting to happen” are set to remain in a road for nearly two more weeks.
Leep Electricity Networks Limited roadworks to install a new service connection in Meriden Way, Watford, have caused “carnage” traffic, according to a motorist, as A41 cars have been forced to swerve.
The work is scheduled from September 7 until September 24, with multi-way signals in place near Widgeon Way, and concerns have been raised after the heavy rush hour traffic.

A local, who did not want to be named, said: “The temporary lights are causing cars to back up onto the main A41, causing cars to swerve round them.
“It’s an accident waiting to happen.”
Others described “bad” traffic near the lights and Google Maps showed heavy congestion there at around 8-9am this morning (September 12).
The footway has not been closed and the work is listed as having an “early start”.
Leep Electricity Networks Limited has been contacted for more information.
