A man has been jailed after burgling two Watford high street shops.
Jay Wilson 44, was charged after targeting Creams and Menspire in The Parade during the early hours of Wednesday, August 30.
The resident of St Albans Road, Watford, took nothing from Creams but stole cash from Menspire.
He appeared at Hatfield Magistrates Court yesterday (September 7) where he was sentenced to eight months' prison and ordered to pay £1,560 in compensation.
Watford Safer Neighbourhood Team (SNT) Inspector Dan Jones said: “Working closely with local businesses, the SNT were able to secure evidence and work with our Local Crime Unit to secure charges after these two businesses were targeted.
“We’re pleased he pleaded guilty to the offences and has now been removed from the streets.
"We’re committed to ensuring Watford is a safe place and will continue to track down those who commit crime in the town.”
