A self-storage company is set to open at the former Mothercare HQ site next week.
After Mothercare vacated its headquarters in Cherry Tree Road, near the Dome roundabout, as part of a cost-cutting exercise the retailer’s 34,000sq ft warehouse was purchased by Cinch Self Storage and Padlock Partners UK Fund III.
Cinch announced it was opening in Watford “soon” earlier this week and staff have now confirmed the “first-class" self-storage site will be availiable to use from Monday (September 11).

When the site was announced Cinch director Richard Owen said the unit “provided us with a unique chance to acquire secure warehouse space in an incredibly desirable location”.
Available units at the site range from 10 square feet to 500 square feet.
A description on the business’ website reads: “If you’re running a business in Watford or the surrounding areas of Garston, Leavesden, and Bricket Wood, you don’t need to find a cupboard under the stairs.
“Flexible storage space from Cinch Storage is the easy way to access more space at short notice to deal with fluctuating requirements.”
The service is also targeted at individuals and families, such as ahead of house viewings or when temporarily between homes.
