A swan has died after it was attacked by a dog, police confirmed.
Officers were called to Croxley Moors in Croxley Green today (Wednesday, September 6) at around 10.29am.
The swan died, however it is not clear if it was already injured before the attack, Herts Police said.

One witness described the attack as “savage” and was deeply concerned by what he saw because “swans are an endangered species”.
He added: “I hope we can raise awareness that dogs should not be let off the lead.”
Herts Police said no crimes were reported, and a force spokesperson told the Watford Observer words of advice were offered to the dog owner.
The police said the dog was described as a ‘gun dog’ (hunting dog) type breed.
Tolpits Lane
Herts Police are investigating after a home in Tolpits Lane home was broken into between 4.30pm and 11.06pm on Saturday (September 2).
Glass was smashed and the home was ransacked in a search of the address. It is not yet known if anything was stolen, police added.
Smashing the front door is believed to be how the offender(s) gained entry.
The force is seeking further information and anyone with information or relevant CCTV/doorbell camera footage can call 101, quoting reference number 41/70359/23.
