Hertford Fire Station has raised £500 for a colleague who may never be able to walk again.
Liam Coffill, 25, from Hemel Hempstead, was involved in a serious collision with a van when he was cycling to work at the Garston Fire Station on Friday, August 18.
He has severed his spinal cord and faces life-altering injuries.
Liam’s colleagues at Hertford Fire Station decided to raise some money for him over the weekend.
The group of firefighters took on climbing a 13.5 metre ladder 656 times, which is equivalent to trekking Mount Everest.
They raised over £500 which will be added to the £27,271 which has already been donated.

The firefighter was taken to St Mary’s hospital in London where he had a six-hour operation to pin his vertebrae.
