A proposal to convert a school chapel into a dance studio is among the planning applications submitted to Watford, Three Rivers, Dacorum and Hertsmere council.
St Margaret's School, in Bushey, has applied to Hertsmere Borough Council for listed building consent to make the conversion.
The school, in Merry Hill Road, dates from the 1890s and is Grade II listed.
A heritage statement accompanying the application states the chapel has not been used for religious worship for "a very considerable period", meaning the space is "redundant" for "practical purposes", and its proposed reuse "would be of considerable benefit to the students at the school, providing a valuable asset in the range of activities offered by this continually developing educational facility".
