Plans for a 25-metre telecoms tower have been proposed for a train station.
Bushey train station could be the site of the area’s next 5G mast after Cornerstone, which has a commercial relationship with Vodafone, sent its proposal to Watford Borough Council this week.
If approved, the mast would taller than many other recent proposals for the area which have tended to be for 15- or 20-metre poles and would sit between the TfL and LNWR lines on the stations north side.

- Plans submitted to build homes in Toms Lane, Kings Langley
- Major route set to be shut overnight and other planned roadworks
The company lists 14 alternative sites it considered before settling on the grass area in the station; including greenfield sites, rooftop sites, street works, and sites that already host other operators’ equipment.
Alongside the mast itself, three ground level cabinets and a concrete base would also be built.
Prior approval was granted for a 21-metre tower at the same location in 2015, which was not put in place.
