Police have detained vehicles in an operation clamping down on weight restriction breaches that leave locals unable to sleep.
After locals complained over commercial vehicles using Radlett Road as a short cut despite a 7.5t limit, Herts Police began a “day of action” on August 21.
The force said it stopped “numerous” vehicles and reported six drivers for driving an overweight vehicle on a restricted road.

One vehicle was seized for having no tax or MOT and another was detained until “dangerous defects” were repaired.
The drivers had drawn complaints after reportedly travelling at high speed, causing houses to shake and residents to be woken up, and causing traffic jams in narrow roads.
PC Kris Endersbee said: “I hope this operation reassures residents that we are listening, and we do take their concerns seriously.
“I would like to thank both Aldenham Golf and Country Club and Blackbirds Farm for supporting the operation by allowing us to use their venues.”
The officer also thanked Aldenham’s county councillor Caroline Clapper and Hertsmere councillor, representing Aldenham East, Lucy Selby.
The “day of action” was carried out by officers from the Hertsmere Safer Neighbourhood Team, the DVSA, and the Environment Agency.
