Five HS2 construction workers were injured when they were trapped in a lift shaft.
On Saturday (August 26) at around 10.15am five men were hurt on a construction site in Mandeville Road near Northolt Underground station.
Emergency services including an air ambulance rushed to the scene and the men were released from the lift at around 11am.
The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) said all five were taken to hospital.
Four people have been discharged after being treated for minor injuries while the fifth remains in hospital.
HSE inspectors were at the site on Tuesday (August 29) attempting to identify the cause of the incident.
HSE inspector Gordon Nixon said: “We are working with all parties involved. At the moment, we are making initial enquiries. If there will be a full HSE investigation, this will take time.”
