The police identified and located a man following a number of burglaries in the Watford town centre.
A 40-year-old man was arrested on Sunday, August 27, in Watford on suspicion of four counts of burglary.
The alleged offender was caught within four hours of the incidents taking place, police said.

A spokesperson added: “Officers appreciate that it can be quite alarming for local residents to know that there have been an increasing number of burglaries in their local area; so we want to reassure you that we are working hard to hold people accountable for their actions.”

A414 crash
In an unrelated incident, a 37-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.
A man died following a “serious crash” on the A414 between Hemel Hempstead and Park Street.
It is reported that an Audi travelling southbound collided with the central reservation.
A Herts police spokesperson said: “Sadly, the sole occupant of the Audi was pronounced dead at the scene. His next of kin have been informed and are being supported by our officers.”
