A secondary school’s new principal has shared his "pride" in the GCSE students’ results.
The Grange Academy in London Road, Bushey, told the Watford Observer that nearly 20 per cent of students achieved a grade 7-9 in English or maths.

However, the school declined to reveal what percentage of pupils attained grades 5-9.
GCSEs are now marked from a scale of 1-9. In the new scale, papers marked 7 to 9 are considered As with those marked 4 to 6 considered Cs and Bs.
Grade 3 largely corresponds to a D with 2 and 1 reserved for Fs and Gs.
Principal Danny Bryant said: “The GCSE results this year are a testament to the unwavering spirit and determination of students who have faced unprecedented challenges, with students experiencing extended periods of remote learning, isolation, and uncertainty.
“For so many students these results reflect their exceptional determination, resilience and adaptability.”
The school added it is looking forward to welcoming students to its sixth form.
