A police helicopter was called as part of a manhunt after an aggravated burglary in Garston.
Two men forced entry to a property in Bucknalls Close by damaging the front door on Sunday, August 20, between 9.20pm and 9.30pm.
The burglars fled after being challenged by the occupant. Police are currently investigating if anything was taken from the home.
An aggravated burglary is more severe than an ordinary burglary because it means some kind of weapon was involved. It is currently unclear what it was in this case.
Detective Inspector Chris Parperi said: “We are currently in the early stages of our investigation.
- Air ambulance called after serious multi-vehicle crash
- Police increasingly concerned for missing man
“I am encouraging anyone who lives in the area to check CCTV cameras, as it may contain vital evidence to support with our ongoing enquiries.
“Additionally, if anyone was in the area at around this time spotted anything suspicious, please also report this to police.”
Numerous residents reported hearing a police helicopter circling around the Meriden area, which a force spokesperson confirmed was linked to the burglary.
Information can be reported to police online or via non-emergency number 101, quoting reference 41/66844/23.
