Planning permission for a restaurant's new signs has been granted despite fears it looks like a rude word.
An application to display signs for a new eatery called 'The Bank', in the former Warehouse 51 Productions offices at Parthenon House, Chorleywood, was approved by Three Rivers District Council yesterday (August 3).
However, the plan received objections before being green-lit, with two comments from neighbours and one from Chorleywood Parish Council which drew attention to the stylised 'B' in its name.

The parish council said it “would request that the B is replaced with a B from the English alphabet as there is scope for the sign to be interpreted as 'w' ank.”
The letter in the approved plans looks similar to a 3.
Objections were also raised over the illuminated nature of the signs. The plan was updated with amended designs after comments were submitted featuring polished brass lettering instead.
However, the polished brass signs still had stylised Bs.
The restaurant would be located in the former Warehouse 51 Productions offices at Parthenon House, Station Approach, Chorleywood.
Updated: A proposal to allow restaurant use, instead of office use, in part of the building was approved in February and a second plan “for the remaining part of the offices”, was approved on Friday (August 4).
