Plans submitted in 2021 to turn offices in a town’s High Street into eight £625-£815 flats have been approved.
The homes are set to be created in Odeon Parade in Rickmansworth High Street, opposite the library, after the previous owners of the first and second floor office space “faced extreme difficulty in securing any commercial tenants for the site”, according to the proposal.
Each would be a one-bedroom and classed as a “no parking development”.

Being different sizes, the flats were given their own projected rental price per month, with the lowest being £625-£645 and the highest being £775-£815.
Drawings for the plan were submitted in late 2021 before amended plans were submitted in early 2022, and April/May this year, after consultation and comments.
The change of use was eventually approved yesterday (August 1).
It followed a previous plan being approved, in October 2020, for two less (six) homes replacing the same offices.
The site was previously an Odeon Cinema, giving Odeon Parade its name, before it was demolished in the 1960s.
