Herts Police’s PCSOs are uniformed officers that carry out patrols and “act as a visible deterrent to crime and anti-social behaviour”.
They do not have the same powers as a police officer but are able to issue penalty notices for some offences.
The OWL service sends alerts to locals about crime and police operations in their area.
