Plans have been submitted for a major storage area near Costco.
The site, currently partly green space and partly an existing smaller storage area, is between the A41 and M1 in Bushey.
Under a plan submitted to Hertsmere Borough Council earlier this month, large warehouses would be built for storage and distribution covering 45,000 square metres, roughly the size of the Principality Stadium in Cardiff.

The main access point would come from the A41, and separate access point over the M1 would be available for car parking use only.
According to a consultation created before the plans were submitted, it is expected that construction work would begin in 2025 and operations would commence in the first quarter of 2026.
It added that 328 jobs would be created during construction and 558 would be generated once the warehouse/commercial floorspace became operational.
It is described as a “phased development” which could be brought forward in several phases and/or plots.
As it stands, the plan is only an outline application and further plans would need to be submitted and approved before any work goes ahead.
Five potential design options have been drawn up, with different numbers of warehouses covering roughly the same area.
