A school is looking to have plans that include a new sports hall and teaching block approved.
Immanuel College in Bushey Heath was granted permission to knock down an unused teaching block at the end of June and has now submitted plans that go beyond just a new block at that site.
The proposal, pending approval from Hertsmere Borough Council, also includes a new sports hall, conversion of the existing sports hall, upgrades to playing fields, as well as other works and repairs.

The new teaching block proposed to replace the unused one set for demolition would be made up of four classrooms and an entrance lobby.
The existing sports hall was described as “substandard” in the plan, prompting the need for a “purpose-built Sport England-standard sports hall”.
This would be built in an area currently used for car parking, with the parking spaces re-provided in existing green space.
The move would leave the existing sports hall to be converted and extended to provide new large classrooms, a staff room, and a library.
One of the school buildings, Caldecote Towers, is grade II-listed and in need of major repairs and refurbishment, partly due to “decay and deterioration”.
Consent to refurbish it has also been sought and the aim is that the overall project will allow for teaching to be moved elsewhere while it is closed for comprehensive work.
