Several local businesses or their buildings have gone on the market recently and we’ve rounded up five you might have missed.
Ebb Tide and the flat above it, on the corner of Market Street and Merton Road, are being marketed for £695,000.
According to the listing, the property is to be sold "with vacant possession" and the Watford Observer understands the shop is set to close at the end of the month.
The 165-167 unit in The Parade is available to let at £21,000 per year.
It is currently occupied by Prime Pizza, which opened in November 2021.
Although it is up for sale, as of April the Watford Observer understood there were no plans to close it down. Instead, it will continue to operate under its current owners at least until a potential takeover of the unit is agreed.
It remains on the market.
The Repertoire unit, in Queens Road, is being advertised as a £27,000 per year commercial space for a new store to potentially open in.
Closing down signs have gone up in the windows.
The 69-71 The Parade unit was home to High Street Essentials before Barnardo’s took over in 2018, and is described as “a prime retail opportunity in the heart of Watford”.
The lease will be available from August 14 at a £70,000 yearly rent.
One unit that has been on the market for a long time is The Columbia Press. The former Wetherspoon unit is boarded up and has been available to take over since September last year.
The rent will only be revealed to potential tenants on application.
