The sound of smashing glass led a man to discover a thief halfway through his neighbour's car window.
At around 5.47am today (July 15) the Neal Street resident was disturbed by the sound and tried to catch the offender on camera before shouting down at him.
He said: “I heard the window smashing and thought 'that doesn’t sound right' so I looked out to see his legs sticking out the car.”
Once some choice language was shouted down at the hooded vandal, whose face cannot be seen in the video, he pulled himself out of the window, grabbed a bag that had been left on the pavement, and left the scene.

Nothing was taken, and the owner confirmed nothing valuable was left in the car.
“I phoned the police straight away,” the neighbour added. “They said other cars had been targeted too.”
